We have created this guide to help you select your ideal timber cladding profile.

Our range of timber cladding profiles is suitable for both external and internal wall cladding and come in choice of rough sawn and smooth finishes. Whether you are installing your timber cladding vertically or horizontally we have profiles to suit and if you want to hide the fixings, we have specific profiles to make it possible.

We think that we have a cladding profile to suit most situations and tastes without overcomplicating things. If we don’t, we can always make a new one.

I regularly use Vastern for purchasing locally grown, sustainably sourced British oak and ash. I then use this for making bespoke fitted and freestanding furniture. The quality of the timber is excellent and reliable. I usually deal with Wolf when I visit who's friendly, knowledgeable and allows time to search for the timber that fits my requirements. The company really cares about what they do, and they promote the conservation and enhancement of British woodlands which is important to me and really sets them apart!

Just got some Siberian Larch Grade A and B delivered today in 140mm and 95mm for decking and wall cladding. Andy was extremely helpful with the delivery and had great knowledge of the product. Dee was also very helpful when ordering. Her job would be made easier though if there was a more efficient way for the customer to measure up the lengths required. It took me a while to get my head around measurements and I had to rely on Dee to confirm the lengths. Maybe some clever software could help there, which would relieve the pressure off Dee to have to confirm all the measurements. Just a thought. Thank you.

Always a great experience at Vastern. Prices are reasonable considering the quality is so good, and the staff are all very helpful & knowledgeable, even dealing with small quantity orders. Vasterns is the best Timber yard around, after having nothing but trouble with English Woodlands timber and their lack of communication, we contacted Vasterns and spoke with Wolf.
He was so helpful and friendly, the knowledge he has over all aspects of the Timber yard is incredible, we needed a large slab of Kiln dried Oak for a table top amongst other stuff.
The price was hugely cheaper than the other yards and to be able to get someone to get back to us asap and not direct us to a confusing website where everything seems to be on hold, was refreshing.
The whole yard is organised with the tree's being British grown, it really is a pleasure to deal with this company.
Thank you Wolf for always being helpful and answering the phone, it's appreciated.

I went to Vastern to get a burr oak waney edge board. Their customer service was excellent, I was given a lot of help and advice to pick out the very board that met my needs to make my river table. I went back to get some planed oak for the legs/base. Thoroughly recommended!
Edit Oct 2024: Visited again to get some planed oak boards for a custom lounge light. Customer service and the personal touch was still top notch!

From the start Dee was so helpful with arranging our appointment to view Vasterns huge array of timber including kiln dried slabs and live edge pieces. I would like to express how impressed i was with my visit to vastern timber today. I was unable to find a suitable oak window sill in the showroom. I was then served by Wolf who showed me the full available stock. This enabled me to find 2 pieces of thick oak with a waney edge. Ideal for what i wanted and he was also able to run the top surface through the plainer which saved me a huge amount of work and has given me a really fabulous finish. Thanks again

On delivery driver Andy was really friendly and helped me handball it all down the garden saving me a chunk of time.

If you're a carpenter, you'll love this place. Great selection of oak planks, mouldings, various lengths and sizes. Amazing choices of whole tree rough edged planks, various sizes and types, oak, elm, etc. Lot's more too, cladding, oils, the list goes on. Competitive prices, friendly helpful service 👍

No wonder Vastern has so many great reviews. From start to finish they were friendly, helpful, knowledgable and so professional.

I’m building a shed from scratch with minimal DIY experience and cladding it with Larch waney edge shiplap. They’ve helped me through every stage and nothing was to much bother for them.

All the staff are a credit to the business but I have to say that Stefan was exceptional with his customer care throughout the purchasing.

I collected my order and of arrival I was greeted by Andy aka Wolf. What a guy, great customer care, incredible with his forklift skills and a very professional well mannered and a fun character.

As I needed to adjust my payment, I went in to the office, fully masked up of course. There I spoke to Dee who kindly refunded me the difference. Again her and her colleague were very polite and professional but with great personality.

Although Vastern Timber is a 2 hour drive for me, the level of service, the quality of the product, the knowledge provided and the very reasonable pricing all make it very worth it...and there’s also the bonus of dealing with an amazing team whilst you’re there.

Top job Vastern, it was an absolute pleasure!!!

I've been a customer of Vastern timber for years but a few days ago I had a "needle in a haystack" situation , having to finding a slab of waney edge timber with burr for a worktop that would fit the criteria for this project .
I asked a member of staff for help finding the right piece, Mr Wolf went above and beyond to help us and not only did he find the right piece for us , he was extremely helpful in giving us advice on how to fit it and treat a beautiful piece .
A rare plank of burr Elm is the perfect addition to our campervan kitchen worktop.
