Visit Vastern Timber’s showroom in Royal Wootton Bassett, near Swindon, to view our collection of solid and engineered hardwood flooring, alongside timber cladding and decking.
See the natural colours, textures and character of real wood up close. Compare different species, grades and finishes, and find the right timber for your home or building project.
Set within our working timber yard, where we’ve been milling timber since 1904, the showroom brings our timber collections together in a light-filled, oak-framed building.
Whether you’re renovating, building your own home or working on a client’s project, our team is here to help you understand the options and make an informed choice.
One of the highlights of our flooring showroom is the rainbow wall, a striking display of engineered hardwood flooring arranged by colour, tone and character.
Rather than choosing from small samples or relying on photographs, you can compare full-size boards and see how different finishes bring out the natural beauty of the timber.
The display guides you through the options, from lighter, more contemporary tones to richer, warmer shades, helping you narrow down the flooring that best suits your space.
With different grades and finishes to consider, the rainbow wall makes it easier to appreciate the variations that make every real wood floor unique.
Our solid hardwood flooring displays bring together British oak, ash and elm, allowing you to compare the distinctive grain, colour and character of each species.
See the differences between Classic, Country and Rustic grades, from cleaner, more consistent boards to those with more knots and natural variation.
Viewing the boards side by side gives you a much clearer sense of how each floor will look and feel in your home.
Whether you’re drawn to the timeless appeal of solid oak flooring or the distinctive character of ash and elm, visiting the showroom gives you the opportunity to compare the collection before making your decision.
Natural light can make a remarkable difference to the appearance of a wooden floor.
Large windows fill our showroom with daylight, allowing you to see the natural colours and textures of each board. Adjustable lighting also lets you see how different floors appear under warmer or cooler artificial light.
You’re welcome to bring paint charts, fabric swatches or wallpaper samples to compare alongside the flooring.
It’s a simple way to see how your chosen timber could work with the rest of your interior, before committing to a floor.
Alongside our hardwood flooring collections, the showroom features a selection of timber cladding and decking, with different species, profiles and finishes available to compare.
See the natural character of British larch and western red cedar, alongside our Brimstone range of thermally modified British timber.
Viewing the boards in person allows you to compare profiles, textures and finishes, and understand how different timber choices could complement your project.
Whether you’re considering timber cladding for a new build, an extension or a renovation, our displays provide a useful starting point for choosing the right materials.
Choosing the right timber involves more than finding a colour or finish you like.
During your showroom appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to speak with a member of our knowledgeable team about your project and the options available.
For flooring, we can help you understand the differences between solid and engineered boards, compare timber species and grades, and discuss practical considerations such as underfloor heating and subfloor preparation.
For cladding and decking, we can talk through timber species, profiles, finishes and fixing considerations.
Our aim is straightforward: to help you choose timber that’s right for your project, your preferences and your budget.
