Black Coated Thermowood Cladding Features

Factory-coated black thermowood cladding offers a bold, contemporary finish with performance to match. Manufactured from thermally modified European spruce, the boards are exceptionally stable. Reduced movement and moisture uptake both help the coatings to last significantly longer than on standard painted softwood.

The thermal process also removes resins, preventing bleed-through and ensuring a clean, consistent appearance over time. Factory paint application delivers a deep, rich black colour that is even and consistent; something that is difficult to achieve on site. The result is a durable, low-maintenance cladding solution combining striking aesthetics with long-lasting performance.

Characteristics of Black coated thermowood cladding

Appearance
Factory coating creates a rich black colour evenly across all boards. The grain and the knots of the thermally modified spruce will show through ensuring an authentic look of real wood.

Weathering
The combination of stable thermally modified wood and a factory coating ensure many years of service before the paint layer starts to break down. In the meantime, the wood will not turn grey. The manufacturer suggests maintenance is needed every 7 – 10 years depending on exposure.

30 years +
