A timber floor is a long-term decision. Get it right and it lasts a lifetime. Get it wrong and you will know about it every time you walk across the room.
Our solid flooring is milled from British-grown oak, ash and elm. We also offer engineered oak boards, compatible with underfloor heating and ground floors. Not sure which is right? Start with our showroom or order a sample.
SOLID HARDWOOD
One piece of British timber, milled to thickness. The full character of the tree is in every board.
It moves slightly with the seasons. That is not a flaw. That is wood being wood.
Best for: first floors, timber subfloors, rooms without underfloor heating.
ENGINEERED OAK
A real oak top layer over a stable core. Handles underfloor heating and ground-floor subfloors. Less movement, same look. Our engineered range is available unfinished and pre-finished in a wide choice of grades.
Best for: ground floors, concrete subfloors, open-plan rooms, underfloor heating.
We supply our solid hardwood flooring boards at 20mm thick and in random lengths. Most of our floors are supplied in a traditional mixed-width format. This allows us to use as much of the tree as possible and keeps the flooring looking authentic.
Our solid wood floor boards have a tongue and groove (T&G) joint running down the long edges but not on the ends. The ends of the boards will require trimming perfectly square before fitting. For suspended floors, the ends of the solid boards must be supported by the joists.
Our engineered flooring is constructed on a stable core and is available in both 15mm and 20mm thickness. We offer unfinished as well as pre-finished engineered flooring options and a choice of grades ranging from clear to heavily distressed.
Engineered floor boards are supplied with T&G and micro bevel on all four edges. Floor board lengths are between 1.0mt and 2.4mt long. For suspended floors, engineered boards can be joined without the support of a joist.
While we offer advice on how to fit your hardwood floor boards, we do recommend that you use an experienced fitter to carry out the work. We can recommend a few good local floor fitters.
