A natural fit: English ash Brimstone cladding

A modern home in a rural setting
Set in a peaceful rural location, this striking new-build replaces an old bungalow with a thoughtfully planned and spacious home.
Sally, our customer (and owner of the property), envisioned a home that would sit harmoniously in the landscape while reflecting quality and sustainability.
The design incorporates three interconnected areas, two single-storey and one double-storey. The property is covered largely in Brimstone ash cladding, with an area of render at the lower level.

Discovering Brimstone as the ideal product
During the research phase, Sally discovered Brimstone which had just won Build It magazine’s Best Cladding Product, 2022.
Brimstone, the UK’s original thermally modified wood, is sourced locally and manufactured by us, at our sawmill in Wiltshire, England. Its natural aesthetic, innovative qualities, and strong environmental credentials appealed to Sally and so we began working together to plan out the details and requirements.
Sally wanted something that would look natural in the rural setting and chose Brimstone ash cladding from our range of species. An excellent choice for the countryside location!
A finished home that is greatly admired
Now complete, the home looks absolutely stunning. The cladding has been expertly installed by Sally’s builder, Darryl Harding, and complements the setting beautifully. Our customer is delighted with the results and frequently receives compliments and questions from curious visitors. It’s a testament to the timeless appeal and quality of Brimstone.
