British larch cladding – and a good jig

We love watching our talented customers share their work in progress on social media.

This project comes from Mr B, a musician who turned his hand to woodwork during the Covid lockdowns. He now creates bespoke garden rooms and his latest construction is beautiful.

We particularly enjoyed watching him install larch cladding with a jig. The precision is amazing – and so are the results. Take a peek.

The Woodland Trust talk Woodland Creation

Have you seen the latest ‘Wood for the Trees’ film yet? The newest episode in the series stars Nick Phillips from the Woodland Trust.

Nick explains why we need to expand tree cover. He also talks about the grants that can help farmers and land managers to make this happen.

Environmental Audit Report ‘Seeing the Wood for the Trees’

The House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee has just released a report on the forestry sector’s contribution to net zero goals. The document quotes our MD, Tom, who answered the call for submissions.

You can find out more, and read Tom’s submission in our updated blog: Why the UK needs a timber strategy – our submission to the EAC.

Wood for the Trees at the agroforestry show

On the 6th and 7th of September this year, Soil Association and The Woodland Trust are hosting the UK’s biggest ever agroforestry gathering, and the Wood for the Trees filming team will be there.

You can expect everything from practical advice on agroforestry design, to info on government and private funding schemes. The event aims to create more collaboration between farmers and foresters. Maybe we’ll see you there!

Find out more about the agroforestry show.

Webinar recording now available for all

You may remember us mentioning Tom’s appearance on the Alliance of Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) webinar. During the discussion, he shared our experiences of measuring and reporting on our carbon footprint.

The good news is, the recording is now available to all, not just the members of the ASBP. Want to know how larger and smaller manufacturers are tracking and tackling their carbon footprint? Check out the webinar.
