Welcome to Vastern Timber. We specialise in the production and supply of British timbers for the traditional building and heritage conservation markets.
We understand that in most building designs the timber only makes up a small proportion of the overall project. Despite this, the correct specification of timber can be a time consuming and frustrating process.

We appeal to you as the architect to specify British timber. Despite what you may have been told by those promoting imported species, British wood is available in a wide variety of species and specifications.
Facts about British Timber
- British oak is some of the hardest and toughest grown anywhere in Europe
- British Douglas fir achieves the same strength grades as that imported from North America
- Western red cedar grows in this country as well as Canada
- British Larch is as durable as any other softwood cladding timber and often cheaper.
